So nice to spend a few days in Leavenworth!
We're staying here at the Wanderlust Inn in the Patriotic Suite.
The Ashcrafts are also staying here; they have the Bavarian Suite.
In fact, Evan wanted his own room, so he's staying in the Ashcraft's suite with Harold, Kelly, Gillian, and Clarice.
It's been 4 years since we were here in Leavenworth and it's nice to be back here, relaxing for a few days before the wedding.
Aubrey wasn't even born yet the last time we were here.
Visiting the Christmas store, Kris Kringl.
You've got your Christmas in July section.
It's nice that Clarice could hang out with the family for a little vacation before the wedding.
Aubrey and James loved these Christmas doggies in the store.
Found a bunch of food ornaments.
Aubrey wanted to check out the snow globes.
They even have themed Christmas villages.
Mostly we liked walking around town and enjoying the nice Summer day.
I love all the German-inspired architecture throughout the town.
The gazebo was roped off for some reason :(
We relaxed in the shade and tried a few types of fudge Gillian picked up nearby.
Having some crackers and sausage.
After exploring the village, we wet to Munchen Haus for lunch.
Mmm, delicious sausages.
We love the flower boxes and hanging flowers all over town.
At the edge of town, we ventured out to Blackbird Island.
We saw people out in the river.
Looks like it's naptime.
Aubrey was done walking around, so while the kids played at the playground, I walked back to where we left the car and picked everyone up.
It felt like being back in Germany.
The food was excellent.
We enjoyed the traditional music by this man on accordian.
Unfortunately, James' eyes swelled up from pink eye during dinner. Every time we wiped the goop out of his eyes, more and more came out. There was so much goop, it was really quite something.
Enjoying some ice cream at the creamery.
Woah, that's a lot of ice cream for a little Aubrey girl.
We started giving James eye drops and he started doing better.
Most stores were closed by the time it starting to get dark.
What a great day!
