Tonight Activision hosted a holiday party at Universal Studios for all employees here in Southern California and our families.
Every year we have our work party for our studio but this is the first time I've heard of an Activision party across multiple studios, let alone one for our families to attend.
It took a while to drive out there. Even though we left in the afternoon, it was evening when we arrived and checked in. That is, all of us except for little Aubrey, who we left with the Ashcrafts since she's too little to be out late and ride these rides.
The theme park was decorated for Christmas, and further decorations were up for Activision and the various studios.
The kids were hungry when we got there but the provided food for the party wasn't open yet so we bought the kids some food at Mel's Diner to hold them over, then returned an hour later when the free burgers were out.
In the meantime, we explored the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and rode the rides.
James couldn't ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey so we child-swapped and Hailey and Evan rode it a second time. They loved it so much that at the end of the night, they took Jeni on it again while James and I rode the Flight of the Hippogriff ride multiple times.
Tonight was a really fun evening with the kids. We picked up 2 large Lard Lad donuts and rode the Simpsons ride.
It was great to go on the rides without the long lines. We went on DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, the Secret Life of Pets, and the Silly Swirly bug ride (then back to the Harry Potter rides on our way out).
We couldn't stay out too late. It is a school night, after all, and we had to get these kids to bed.
