Thursday... got to wake up early to assemble Dupos before Dad leaves for work.
Friday morning... more Lego building before Dad leaves for work.
He wanted the ambulance to fly.
Steve has been teaching Hailey how to read the instructions and build things... and now she wants to build all the time. She gets so excited to build and loves to show me the finished project, like this Lego police station with police boats.
I asked Steve to read stories to the kids and help put them to bed. It seems like he was in their room forever, like until 10:00pm.... 2 hours after she should have been asleep. I didn't check on him because I was too busy enjoying a little rare free time for myself. The next morning I hear from Hailey that Steve was showing Hailey all sorts of girl Lego sets on his Kindle. Steve just can't resist the opportunity to share his Lego happiness with others. Hailey has a birthday next week and all of her presents have already been bought. Now she's convinced she is getting her own Lego Cinderella set. I had to have a chat with Steve about what a bedtime story is. There is now an extra present wrapped, waiting for next week. Steve can hardly wait.
I remind myself all the time that it is much more enjoyable for me to be married to a Lego enthusiast than a sports-obsessed husband any day.
